Designing Architect for the Complete STEKO® Homes
In 2006, o2 Architecture was founded in Palm Springs, California. The firm’s unwavering goal to discover the essence of place drives a process that engages the senses and intellect with a poetic connection to site, culture and ecologically crafted modernism. To this end, sustainable design has always been pursued as a continuous thread woven throughout the design and construction process. Each project is taken as an opportunity to embrace the culture of place, the particular site’s natural beauty and often demanding natural forces–sun, wind, light, water, earth. We appreciate diversity and see natural forces as dynamic daily and seasonal patterns that allow built form to resiliently harmonize with people and place. Embedded in this thread are immersive explorations into modern social science, technology, systems, products and construction methods. Our firm has extensive experience with the utilization of unique building systems, having pioneered with Blue Sky Building Systems in 2008, an all steel building system that was featured in numerous publications with the most widely distributed article published in the March 2010 Prefab issue of Dwell magazine. With this experience we enter an exciting new venture with Steko Building Systems, South America. Our o2/Steko prototype designs utilize timeless and emerging sustainable practice in an evolved modernist language.
